ChapmanCG’s latest series of HR roundtables took us to Shanghai where we were hosted by Ferrero, GSK, EMC and American Express. There were lively discussions on the talent life-cycle in all four meetings, and some interesting synergies became clear across all industries. Of particular interest was the link between Talent Acquisition and retention, and the general consensus was that retention and preventing attrition can and should start during the attraction and subsequent ‘courtship’ process. The meetings were attended by a great group of participants, including representatives from American Express, Barclays, British American Tobacco, Burberry, Energizer, EY, JP Morgan, McGraw-Hill, SAP, Shell, Pfizer, Rolls-Royce, SAP, Shell, Standard Chartered Bank, Swiss Re and Zurich.

On 5 December, The Chapman Consulting Group co-hosted a networking session for Talent Acquisition Heads in Singapore. The event, which was held at GSK, was attended by TA leaders from a wide range of industries including banking & financial services, hospitality, IT&T, oil & gas, property, media & PR and the pharmaceutical sector. The Chapman Consulting Group was delighted to co-host two groups of Taiwan HR Leaders in Taipei last week at the offices of DuPont and GlaxoSmithKline. Both groups were very lively, and an interesting discourse took place around the subject of data management, data systems, and the way that ‘big data’ is changing how HR is run in Taiwan. The Chapman Consulting Group co-hosted discussion groups on the U.S. East Coast for global HR Leaders last week. Twenty international HR representatives from some of the world’s prominent multinationals met at the London group headquarters of GlaxoSmithKline for a dialogue on talent development strategies in emerging markets.
