The Company

Our client is a global manufacturer of specialty materials that drive a growing and thriving industry. They have a large presence in Japan that supports other regions in Asia given its highly advanced and sophisticated plant/R&D. The need for more technological products will continue to drive the growth of this business and they are one of the top players in what they do.

The Role

The individual will need to function as a true Business Partner by developing talent and designing and implementing workforce and organizational strategies that align with global strategies and objectives. The role will facilitate line of sight initiatives to build a high-performing organization aligned with the strategic leadership agenda and support line management in forecasting and planning the talent pipeline requirements in line with the function/business strategy. The need to provide advice and execute on recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, policies and procedural issues for Japan will be required.  

The Individual

Problem solving skills are a must – identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner and being able to gather and analyze information skillfully. The individual should be interpersonal being able to focus on solving conflict within a no blame culture. Good listening and communication skills will be needed with the ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Having the confidence and ability to respond openly to feedback, obtain clarification of details and defend the need for resources with supportive data, is a must.
