The Company

Our client is a global retail company with a strong local partnership in Japan. Recent leadership change is leading to a transformation in their business model to really drive culture change and create added value to their customers. This company is a well-known global brand operating in more than 30 countries worldwide and has over 1,000 employees within their HQ in Japan.

The Role

The role will be responsible for developing, communicating and implementing HR strategies, both short and long-term, through deep understanding of the business including Global, International and Japan. The individual will be required to ensure HR actions support the critical needs of the business but are flexible enough to deal with changes. A key objective will be to drive all HR-related actions (Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Talent Engagement, Training, HR Digital, Compensation & Benefit etc.) faster than competitors by being highly sensitive and flexible with people-related changes in the market. As the most senior member in HR, the role will provide leadership, coaching and guidance to all HR members, including beyond direct teams. They should also have the ability to provide developmental coaching to the VP and other talents within the organization.  

The Individual

Experience in leading HRBPs and HR Functional Teams (Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Learning & Development, C&B and Labor Relations) is required. Strong leadership skills are needed in order to lead a large HR Team with great influencing skills. The individual should have a global mind-set with excellent communication skills both in English and in Japanese.
