We’re partnering with a Fortune 500 American manufacturing company looking for their next Country Head of HR. The business is well-known for its innovative products as well as its forward thinking HR practices. The business has strong values oriented towards treating people with respect and sustainability for the environment. Based in Tokyo, the organisation has a sizable operation in Japan.
This prestigious Country Head of HR role is all about creating change in a sustainable manner. Their product cycle allows HR to focus on important people issues such as workforce planning, culture change, engagement and creating good working conditions with flexi-time, telework, and productivity increasing technology. It’ll manage a high performing HR team.
The ideal person understands Japanese and Western philosophies and can bridge between the two to create synergy. He/she will need to be highly capable of building relationships with the business, employees and overseas stakeholders so the trust can be leveraged to drive change. Technical expertise in HR business partnering and other HR functions will be important, but problem solving and analytical skills will be more vital. A high level of Japanese and English will be required for the role.
