We are partnering with a US based Fortune 500 company in manufacturing space with over 30,000 employees in more than 50 countries across the globe. The business generates revenue of over $US200 million and has 600+ staff across multiple sites in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines. It has manufacturing operations in Malaysia and Thailand, and distribution centres/sales offices in other countries. There is both unionised and non-unionised staff.
Reporting to the Senior HR Director based in Singapore and partnering closely with the General Manager for the ASEAN who is also a member of the ASEAN Business Leadership Team. The role will lead a team of 22 HR and admin staff and have functional support from COE’s in Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development and Internal Communications that are dedicated to the region. It will also lead various regional HR projects in line with business needs and the individual’s development plan and career interests. Most importantly the role will act as a thought partner and be a trusted advisor to the GM and other senior leaders in the business, providing guidance and counsel on all people related matters. The role will also Act as a strategic business partner to the business by initiating and driving to implementation ideas for maximizing the return on human capital. This role would require extensive travel across the region.
With a HR or business-related degree, the successful applicant must have a proven track record as ASEAN HR Leader within a multinational organisation. They will be comfortable navigating and influencing effectively in a matrix structure. Previous manufacturing experience advantageous but not a prerequisite, as is union exposure. More importantly this individual will be able to act as a change agent, be curious about possibilities and look to constantly evolve.
