Located in Long Beach, CA, our client is a leader in the global transportation and logistics industry. Seeking a Human Resources Director to directly report into and support the global CHRO, the HRD will support the North America region while still having exposure to a global organization. This is a high exposure job with a blend of both strategic and tactical elements, interfacing with employees across the organization and working with key stakeholders to help support the goals and vision of the business.
Working as a broad-based generalist, the HRD will participate in talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, the strategy in organizational design and development and compliance, supporting the North American employee population. As of today, this is an independent contributor role, however in the future there is an opportunity to lead a small team. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from and work with a talented and passionate CHRO who is looking for a collaborative HRD to help build a best-in-class HR function.
The individual we are looking for will be a team player, someone who is highly collaborative and consultative in their daily approach. This person will have experience in both a union and non-union environment and will have prior experience working as an HR generalist. Ideal previous industry experience will include transportation, supply chain or logistics. A minimum of seven years of HR experience is necessary, and a bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to those who are bilingual/fluent in both English and Spanish.
