Based in New York, the L&D Director oversees all learning and development activities for North America corporate and retail operations. He/She will also lead the L&D transformation for the brand from a transactional to a strategic and business partnering function. The L&D Director will analyze business needs, challenges and priorities. Using the resulting gap analysis, he/she will design the L&D function and content. The L&D Director will identify definition of success (ROI), establish KPI’s and manage the learning budget. This includes formulating strategies, plans, developing and implementing Organizational Development initiatives and L&D projects according to the HR people development and business strategies. This role will lead an initial team of 5 that will increase to up to 10 as the function evolves and covers other retail training areas for the brand. The L&D Director will report to the VP of HR US and dotted line to the global Head of L&D in Europe.
The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in Learning & Development with exposure to multinational corporations. Experience in the luxury goods industry or with organizations that value brand loyalty and customer experience is highly preferred. He/she ideal will also be a strong people and stakeholder manager and demonstrate experience building and developing a team of L&D professionals. He/she must also possess the ability to drive the L&D agenda and influence as well as build consensus with senior business leaders. Due to the transformational nature of this role, a background in OD and change management is highly desired.
