Our client is a boutique specialist firm in the Insurance sector, established 22 years ago they have a global presence and are poised at an exciting stage of growth and evolution on an international scale. This small and agile organisation pride themselves on their progressive, collegiate, and non-hierarchical structure that puts ‘people first’. Due to ongoing growth this highly successful and profitable business are looking for an HR Director to join them and build out their HR function globally.
Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer and with support from an HR Administrator this HR Director position will design and drive the HR agenda across Europe, the US and Asia, the biggest population being in the London Headquarters. In this green field role, you will build a progressive, commercial, and value-add HR model, ensuring alignment as the business grows internationally. As a trusted HR Business Partner, you will work in close partnership with your senior Business Leaders to ensure the HR agenda aligns with the business strategy, with a focus on performance management, mental health and wellbeing, workforce planning initiatives and cultural change. This is a small and agile organisation building out it’s HR function from scratch, you will therefore need to straddle the strategic through to the tactical elements of HR. The role is highly visible and you will have close exposure to the Management team, as well as work hand in hand with the broader business building strong and trusted relationships throughout.
The right candidate will be a truly strategic business facing HR professional who can switch between high level HR and more daily, hands-on HR issues with ease and comfort, and who has had international coverage in previous roles. Substantial knowledge of UK employment law and legislation is essential, and knowledge of the US, Europe and Asia employment legislation would be highly advantageous. The individual will thrive in fluid, ambiguous working environment with flat structures and high visibility to senior leaders. A combination of experience gained in start-up type environments as well as larger, well established corporations would be useful. Applications from a range of industry sectors are welcomed, however exposure to insurance, broader financial services and technology organisations would be ideal. You should have proven experience building out or transforming an HR agenda.
