Our client is a global insurance business with a strong presence internationally and in the UK. They are currently reshaping the business to ensure future growth and success. The opportunity exists for a capable senior HR business partner to join the team, ensuring HR continues to operate commercially, working closely with the business.
This is a true business partner role but will also be hands-on given the tight resources available. Development, Diversity and Engagement are key areas of focus. The organisation is building digital capability across the board so this role will play a big part in the development of talent in this space. The engagement piece is also critical in driving a more progressive culture and fostering wellbeing and a galvanised workforce. Finally, Inclusion and diversity will need to be embedded into the DNA of the organisation. They have made a great start in this area but the business partners will be key to ensure mindsets and behaviours shift in line with the external strategy. The role will also need to ensure the smooth running of the HR machine on a day-to-day basis.
Insurance industry experience will be a big advantage, or at the very least someone coming from financial services. The person will need to balance the requirements of a strategic business partnering requirement with the hands-on element of the role. Culturally it will be a much faster start if someone comes with prior insurance knowledge. We are seeking a generalist with a track record of driving change incrementally in challenging environments. Ideally, they will have managed a small team but ultimately this role will have some hands-on components. They need to be able to flex between strategic thinking and commercial business impact right through to implementing HR process and policies.
