The Role

The organisation is looking for a dynamic HR Director to join its leadership team in the West Midlands. This role is pivotal in shaping the people strategy to support the mission of delivering premium solutions across B2B and B2C in multiple sectors. As a key business partner, the HR Director will lead initiatives to build a high-performance culture, strengthen leadership capabilities, and drive organisational growth. After an aggressive acquisition phase over the past eight years the company is now shifting focus from acquisitions to internal growth, skills development, and operational excellence which the HR Director will play a pivotal role in. They will oversee a business partnering team, HR Shared Services team plus specialist team members including Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Communications and more. The role also has a people responsibility for international employees based in the region. This position will operate out of their West Midlands office three to four times per week and report directly to the Managing Director of their biggest Commercial Business (the UK’s largest business unit). There is also a functional reporting line to the CHRO for EMEA and the broader business President, ensuring strategic alignment across all UK and Ireland businesses. The Individual

The ideal candidate for the HR Director position will bring significant HR leadership experience from service-based or manufacturing industries, ideally in environments with field experts, commercial employees, and customer service teams. They should have strong expertise in driving transformation and managing change, particularly within decentralised or multi-site organisations. The role requires a leader with proven experience overseeing HR teams, such as talent acquisition, learning and development, HR systems, and payroll, while also focusing on talent management and employee relations. This individual must be a collaborative yet resilient leader, capable of balancing strategic direction with operational execution. They should excel in building relationships across all levels of the organisation, particularly with senior executives, and be comfortable in a fast-paced, transformation-focused environment. The ideal candidate will also have the potential for long-term growth, with a clear path for succession in the coming years.
