The Company

We are working on a critical hiring need that will have a lasting impact on our client’s competitive market position. Our client is a multi-billion-dollar global consumer goods company going through a period of positive change, which has highlighted the need to upgrade and upskill key positions across the business and HR functions globally. Assessing organizational capabilities and making strategic talent decisions will help drive performance and create new opportunities for growth for this organization. The CHRO is seeking a seasoned and commercially aware Global Talent & Learning Lead to play an integral role in the overall talent planning strategy. The role will be based in North Carolina and requires limited global travel. This position is a CHRO successor role.

The Role

Reporting to the CHRO, the VP Global Talent & Learning will lead a dynamic team to design and drive an enterprise strategy focused on all facets of talent management and organizational performance. The strategy aims to deliver greater capability and effectiveness across the employee base. This is a very hands-on leadership role, working closely with HR business partners, business line leaders and other CoE specialists to assess the current levels of capability across teams and regions, and build out a framework to unleash the potential of the talent pool. This will include support for organizational assessments, organization design, strategic workforce planning, career planning, talent and succession planning, talent mobility, diversity & inclusion, engagement, culture, learning and change. To be effective in this role, the individual will need to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships and demonstrate an ability to influence strategic outcomes through the lens of talent programs, identifying where success in these areas can improve business results. The longer-term goal is to build and reward behaviors that align with the organization’s values and strategic direction. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant and long-lasting impact on the organization.

The Individual

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of having designed and executed organizational development/effectiveness and workforce planning strategies that have had a positive impact on organizational performance. Deep expertise in the areas of talent strategy, building competency models, talent assessments, leadership development programs and succession planning is essential. The successful candidate will be a broader global talent professional who who has used change management methodologies to help lead and facilitate large-scale organizational transformation. As a lean CoE, the individual must be able to implement practical approaches to organizational demands. Experience gained within a continuous process improvement environment would be highly beneficial. A good working knowledge of, and a passion for, HR/talent analytics is also desirable. Our client operates in the manufacturing space and so a background in assessing and driving performance in similar talent pools will be required. This role will suit an HR leader who enjoys the challenges of developing and motivating global teams as well as influencing senior stakeholders to see the value of the function and its impact on business results. As this is a CHRO successor role, the person we are seeking will be highly strategic and a strong facilitator with an impressive executive presence.
