ChapmanCG are once again partnering with this multinational consumer retail organisation with a truly international footprint across all global markets. The company is in deep transformation mode, driving change through a challenger approach, and carving out its own distinctive role in a fast-changing and dynamic sector. Crucial to its future success is to identify a new Head of People and Culture to look after an exciting and complex key region, ideally based in London, UK.

The Role

The Head of People and Culture will be responsible for 50+ markets across four continents with 3,000+ employees. The regions include Africa, Middle East, Turkey, Australasia and Central and Eastern Europe. They will be an influential and pivotal member of the Global People and Culture Leadership Team, as well as the region’s Leadership Team, responsible for the development and realisation of the ambitious business strategy and transformation plans. The role will partner with senior leaders, coaching, challenging, and influencing them to align the needs of the business and the delivery of the business priorities and people plan. The Head of People and Culture will report functionally to the Chief People and Culture Officer and to the President of the Region.  

The Individual

This individual will have significant HR/P&C leadership and best practice experience at a senior level, ideally in complex consumer environments and across international markets. They must have the ability to understand the organisation, commercials, strategy, and business aims. They should also bring strong leadership capabilities, be able to partner and engage with a broad range of business stakeholders, along with a proven ability to coach and motivate teams in all aspects of performance. In addition, they will need strong change management expertise and strategic thinking capabilities. High E/IQ, resilience and empathy will be essential as will a high tolerance to ambiguity. They will also need to be willing to travel frequently according to business needs on a global basis.
