The Company

Our European headquartered client is a world-renowned brand and a market leader in the retail sector, with a global population of 55,000 employees. This progressive and people focused organisation are going through a journey of change and evolution as they continue to grow their global business. Given this, they are looking to hire a Head of HR for France, one of their largest and most critical markets.

The Role

Reporting into the General Manager for France and the Head of HR Europe, the role will manage a team of 15 HR professionals and have oversight for the end-to-end HR agenda for a population of one thousand employees in the market (both retail and corporate). As the strategic HR Business Partner you will guide and coach the organisation across all relevant People and Organisational topics, ensuring the build-out and execution of the best HR strategies and services in order to attract, develop and retain the best talent. This will be a diverse and varied role, supporting and driving initiatives in close collaboration with internal Talent, OD, Reward and GBS organisations. Through strong leadership at a national and local level you will help to instil an aligned and cohesive HR mindset and strategy across the market. Culture is an integral part of the role and organisation, and you will develop and drive initiatives that help to create a culture that stimulates an inclusive work environment and strong employee engagement at every level throughout the organisation.  

The Individual

The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years significant HR leadership and operational delivery experience gained in a fast-paced, multinational company. People management is essential as is experience handling complicated employee relations cases including unions and works council. You will be a strategic thinker who acts and leads with confidence and speed in execution and you will have excellent relationship management and communication skills. You will be comfortable with both the strategic and tactical elements of an HR leadership role, displaying the ability to take a strategic view whilst also successfully identifying and implementing practical solutions.
