Our client is a leading US-headquartered manufacturing organisation that is listed in New York Stock Exchange. They are one of the largest manufacturers for construction and mining equipment with footprints in more than 500 locations worldwide. They are looking for an HR Director for one of their key business units – Medium Speed Engines Global, to be based in Hamburg or Kiel with a hybrid model. This is part of their Oil & Gas and Marine Division that powers the energy and maritime industries.
The HR Director will be managing a team of four direct reports, covering end-to-end HR processes and operations. As a lead, this role will manage key stakeholder relationships and be a sparring partner to business. The HR Director will be involved in designing, developing, and implementing best practices and policies around talent, engagement, and development topics. Covering a population of 300, the HR Director will work with global stakeholders across EMEA, Asia, and the US. This role will report functionally to the Head of HR - SPM Eastern Hemisphere and Medium Speed Engines Global and business wise to VP Medium Speed Engines & SPM Eastern Hemisphere and Kiel leadership team. This role requires strategic expertise in key HR areas, including talent management, performance management, HR transformation, and compensation and benefits. It will play a critical role in shaping the organisation's planning processes while collaborating closely with international teams.
You should have minimum 10 years’ solid HR experience, especially in people management, talent management, HR strategy in global and matrix environments. You need to showcase strong business acumen possess the analytical and strategic mindset to drive HR decisions. German proficiency is highly advantageous, and experience working for multinational and matrix organizations is essential. You have the option to work part-time (minimum 28 hours) or full-time, will need to commute to Kiel twice a week, and can work from home/in the Hamburg office the rest of the time.
