The Company

Our client is a leading multinational entertainment company with headquarters in North America representing many of the world’s best-known artists.

The Role

The People Director, Japan will partner with the CEO & COO, and wider Leadership team to develop and execute the people strategies and activities that foster growth, innovation and organisational effectiveness. It will serve as strategic adviser on all departmental restructuring, workforce planning and business realignments. Part of the role will be to conduct talent review and succession planning sessions to determine organisational deficiencies and build development plans to fill gaps. Part of the role is as a taskforce member of ‘Creative Office Initiative’ that works to provide the better working environment for employees. The People Director will work closely with the leadership team to rethink the future of work to build a work culture founded on trust and flexibility, also support more collaborative and inclusive ways of working, where everyone feels they belong. The position will be an active member of the wider Global People team and coordinate with the HR teams based in other regions, as appropriate (in particular Asia People team).  

The Individual

You will be a commercially astute HR business partner – an ambitious leader, change agent and internal business consultant with extensive people leadership experience. Your background provides you with significant experience in HR fields such as Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition, Well-being and Reward, Employee Relations in addition to assessing, planning, developing, and delivering training and learning initiatives. You are a knowledge guru with extensive experience of successful change management in people initiatives, policies and practices. Your knowledge of Japanese labour law and HR related regulations will be strong.
