The Company
We are delighted to be representing a leading global brand in the consumer goods industry. The company has a long history in Japan, in what is one of their most important markets globally.
The Role
This is a leadership role responsible for providing thought-leadership on all rewards matters for Japan, with a primary focus on leading the entire compensation and benefits portfolio. The role is focused on influencing HR and business leaders on compensation decisions. The position will charter compensation strategies that are aligned with business requirements, talent strategies, market practises, and global standards. This includes execution of operational as well as tactical, and strategic work. This role reports directly to the APAC C&B Director and will oversee eight team members in Japan with two direct reports.
The Individual
The successful candidate requires solid working experience in the field of compensation, benefits, policy management and/or HR services. They should have a strong understanding and working knowledge of applicable Japanese labour law, employment laws and regulations at state and national level. As strategic thinker with the ability to execute on strategy as well as strong analytical skills, it will be key for this person to establish credibility for the function with both the HR and business community and be able to push back from a position of knowledge when appropriate. Ideally the candidate will have experienced company sizes of 1,500+ and be comfortable to operate at a global level.
