Neal Walters

Managing Director

Neal Walters is a Managing Director with ChapmanCG, based in Japan. He specialises in Japan & Asia Pacific HR search and recruitment, working on mandates for HR Directors, Senior HR Business Partners and head of function positions in Compensation & Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Management. He also works with the broader ChapmanCG team on international searches both in Japan and across the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to joining ChapmanCG, Neal worked as Vice President, Japan and Asia Pacific for en world Japan where he was responsible for executive-level searches and new business development for Japan and the Asia Pacific. Neal’s career in recruitment spans more than 12 years and he has a track record of providing excellent service around people and recruitment strategy development.

Originally from Canada, Neal has lived in Japan for more than 19 years. He graduated with honours from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario with a Bachelor of Business Administration. In addition to English, Neal speaks Japanese. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, ice hockey, squash and fitness training.

Jason Lewis

Senior Director

Jason joined ChapmanCG in 2019 as a Senior Director based in Japan. He works with the team to identify high-calibre HR talent in Japan and across the Asia-Pacific region. His main areas of focus are Head of HR, Senior HRBP, and functional HR leadership roles.

Prior to joining ChapmanCG, Jason worked as the General Manager of Global Recruitment firm, a world leader in talent solutions, as well as holding a position as Sales Director with en World Japan, and managed their HR/GA, Sales & Marketing and Legal Consulting Divisions. As well as Osaka and Nagoya division offices.

Jason has proved to be an accomplished people-orientated Sales Leader in the recruitment industry since 2007. Jason received the Sales Director’s MVP of the year in 2013 and Cross Selling award in 2014 at en world Japan along with recognition for top revenue generation over a number of years.

Jason is originally from Canada and has been based in Japan since 1997. In his free time, Jason enjoys chasing the elusive hole-in-one on the golf course when his young family are not keeping him busy. He is also an avid sports and outdoor enthusiast.

Nick Scheele is a Senior Director with ChapmanCG based in Japan. He works with the team to identify high-calibre HR talent in Japan and across the Asia-Pacific region. His main areas of focus are Head of HR, Senior HRBP, and functional HR leadership roles.

Prior to joining ChapmanCG, Nick worked as a Team Manager of the HR & Corporate Services at en world Japan for over four years. He specialised in HR-focused executive level searches across all industries. Nick started his recruitment career at East West Consulting in 2010, servicing all organisational needs in the consumer, mobile and automotive electronics fields.

Nick is originally from Christchurch, New Zealand and has been based in Japan for almost 15 years. He graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelors of Commerce majoring in marketing. In his free time, Nick enjoys cooking, photography, writing and exercise.

Prior to joining ChapmanCG, Andrew worked as a Team Manager for en world Japan for 5 years and was based in Tokyo. He specialized in executive level search primarily for the pharmaceutical, medical device and cosmetics industries.

Andrew is originally from Toronto, Canada and has been based in Japan for nearly a decade. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Education in Second Language Acquisition (Japanese language) and Cross-Cultural Communications. In his free time, Andrew enjoys golfing, tennis, reading and travelling around Japan and other countries.

Director

Prior to joining ChapmanCG, Shunsuke worked as a Team Manager of the HR B2B team at Robert Walters Japan for six years. He specialized in senior HR searches across healthcare, industrial and other B2B industries.

Shunsuke is originally from Tokyo, Japan and was brought up in both the US and Japan. He graduated from Waseda University with a Liberal Arts degree and studied abroad at Stony Brook University for one year on an exchange program. In his free time, Shunsuke enjoys exercising and exploring new restaurants in Tokyo.

Executive Assistant

Ayumi as an Executive Assistant based in Japan. She facilitates HR searches by assisting the consulting team in coordinating interviews for candidates and clients, as well as organising call screenings, HR events, and other administrative duties.

Prior to joining ChapmanCG, Ayumi worked for several companies as PR/Marketing/team assistant, which gave her opportunities to improve coordination and communication skills.

Ayumi is an entrepreneur and keen chef. She even has her own food truck in Tokyo named “A’s Sub Weekend Stand”, featuring western and Japanese comfort foods. Be sure to say hello if you drop by.

ChapmanCGは業界を問わず、外資系及び国内企業での人事役員レベルの案件を随時取り扱っております。対象企業は小中規模から最大手企業まで幅広く、経営課題やミッションも企業によって様々です。最近の傾向として、組織の若返りや新しいリーダーシップスタイルを模索する企業が多く、人事役員レベルの案件であっても募集対象は必ずしも人事役員経験者では無く、経営課題に深く入り込んだ実績のあるHRビジネスパートナーが多数の人材の中から人事役員として抜擢される例が多く見受けられます。

職務

HR Headとしてリーダーシップを発揮しながら、人事業務の円滑な運用・組織開発・チェンジマネジメント等の戦略人事まで包括的な業務内容とります。外資系企業の場合は、APAC本社またはグローバル本社へのレポートが発生し、本社から日本への制度普及や組織変革をリードすることが求められます。国内企業の場合は、グローバル本社の立場として、制度の企画と各リージョンへの落とし込みやグローバルM&A案件のデューデリジェンス業務等が特徴としてあります。

求める経験・能力

HR Headへの道のりはケースバイケースですが、通常は人事のジェネラリスト(またはHRビジネスパートナー)として5-10年の経験をお持ちで、その間人事戦略を推し進め、企業の繁栄又は大規模な変革に大きく貢献した実績をお持ちの方にチャンスが訪れる傾向があります。複雑なマトリックス組織をナビゲートする力や経営層のステークホルダーと強い信頼関係を育む力、盤石なチームを育て上げるリーダーシップ等も大切な資質になります。上記項目をすべてクリアされていなくても、HRジェネラリストの経験を複数年お持ちで、将来的にHR Headに挑戦されたい野望をお持ちの方は是非一度ご相談ください。多数のHR Head成約実績に裏づけられたキャリア形成のアドバイスや具体的なマーケット情報を共有させて頂きます。

企業

ChapmanCGにはグローバルネットワークを駆使したクロスボーダーの案件成約実績があります。主な例として、外資系企業でのAPAC(地域統括本部)人事リーダーシップ案件や、人事内の専門ファンクション(COE)での地域統括案件などが挙げられます。また、昨今はグローバル化を推進する国内企業での海外勤務案件もあり、海外拠点の立ち上げや海外グループ会社の人事制度統一等に伴う海外募集も見受けられます。

職務

グローバル企業において、人事のAPACチームまたはグローバルチームのリーダーとして、複数国を対象とした人事全体の統括・HRBP又はCOE業務・人事領域のエキスパートや経営チームのリーダーとして、地域統括本部の経営層を対象に人事戦略の領域で適切なコンサルティング・コーチングを行い、経営課題の解決やビジネスの繁栄を目指します。

求める経験・能力

国内企業出身者の場合、日本以外の国を対象とした人事制度の企画や、海外拠点の経営陣に寄り添って人事戦略をリードしたHRビジネスパートナーとしての経験が望ましいです。外資系企業出身者の場合、日本事業を対象としたHR Head経験があっても、APAC地域統括レベルでの案件は見送りとされるケースが多く、最低でも韓国や台湾等のNorth Asia近隣国をカバーした経験が望ましいです。COEのファンクションも同様に、日本以外の複数国の担当実績が期待されます。現時点で必須条件を全て満たされていない方でも、グローバルマインドをお持ちで将来的に海外で活躍されたい野望をお持ちの方は是非一度ご相談下さい。多数のHRクロスボーダー案件成約実績に裏づけられたキャリア形成のアドバイスや具体的なマーケット情報を共有させて頂きます。
