Gazprom Singapore Hosts Final APAC HR Leaders Group for the Week
The Chapman Consulting Group’s (ChapmanCG) Ben Davies, Matthew Chapman and Pooja Fisher have just finished hosting 25 HR Regional HR Heads at the Singapore headquarters of Gazprom. The HR briefing was the final of three sessions hosted in Singapore this week. HR Leaders attended from the likes of Worley Parsons, Sony, Siemens, EDB, British American Tobacco, AngloAmerican, Standard Chartered, Mitsui and many others.
HR Leaders at ChapmanCG’s HR briefing groups are always asked to share a case-study of an issue currently going on in their organisation. This format encourages idea sharing and learning from each other. Generally the biggest realisation is that most HR leaders are experiencing the same issues!
Today’s session had four HR leaders sharing their experiences. Rupert Brown, Global Head of HR of Knowledge Universe, talked about HR transformation driving business growth. Madan Nagaldinne, Regional HR Head of Facebook, discussed practical examples of how to use Facebook to reduce recruitment spend. Devyani Vaishampayan, Global HR Head for Marine, Rolls Royce, talked about creating a strategic workforce plan in China. Timothy Cheong, Group Head of HR with Banyan Tree, outlined creative staff engagement initiatives used within the organisation.
Leaders engaged in a particularly lively discussion of how technology is currently impacting the HR profession. The group looked at how HR leaders are required to be open minded and break with traditional norms when it comes to adopting new trends. It’s important they keep up market leading practices on the use of technology in order to drive better data analytics, smarter external market intelligence, employer branding and recruitment.
The group will come together again in September and further details will be announced soon.
