Passing of Tommy Lim

The Chapman Consulting Group was very sad to lose one of its most talented team members, Tommy Lim, who passed away on Friday 28 February 2014 at only 34 years of age.

Tommy joined ChapmanCG in December 2011 and worked with our international team of Directors, Associates and Market Insight Team members on all facets of the search process including HR market scanning, phone screening, HR relationship rapport building and HR market intelligence gathering. He was also involved in improvement projects to support the fast growing development of the group.

Tommy will long be remembered as one of our hardest working and most committed team members. He worked on many HR searches that our team conducted over the last three years across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam. He was an incredibly talented, dedicated and proactive team member and was also very caring.

Born with muscular dystrophy, Tommy overcame his physical challenges with a fierce personal determination to succeed at his career and hobbies. At the time we hired Tommy three years ago he had no search experience, but he impressed with his capacity to learn. It was inspiring to watch Tommy’s fast track to success within our organisation, while also gaining respect and admiration from many of our HR Leader friends around the world.

ChapmanCG is planning to work with the Singapore government and several disability groups to set up a scholarship, in Tommy’s memory, which will be targeted towards physically disabled workers excelling in the Singapore workforce.
