2010 Quarter 2 Salaries Rise for Resourcing, OD and Training Professionals

The Chapman Consulting Group has released its Quarter2, 2010 Salary Report figures for HR positions in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai. The report, which surveyed the salary expectations of more than 200 HR practitioners across the region showed that salary rises in general have stabilised across the board in comparison to rises see in Quarter 1 this year and Quarter 4 2009.

In particular, Regional Resourcing Leaders have seen increases, with increased demand coupled with the shortage of leadership skills in this specialist space. From an industry perspective, the demand for senior resourcing talent has been highest in the banking sector and we are seeing a jump, on average, of 15 percent in salaries for Regional Resourcing leaders in comparison to the same period in 2009.

The current high demand for training and OD practitioners is also causing salaries in this space to creep up. “In general, we are seeing a five to ten percent jump in salaries for training and OD specialists across all industries but if we were to narrow in on the banking sector these increases would be more like 15 percent”, said Matthew Chapman, Managing Director of The Chapman Consulting Group.

“With HR hiring continuing to very buoyant, there is no doubt that HR salaries will continue to steadily rise in the final two quarters of 2010 . And companies hiring new HR talent will be faced with an expectation of raises of around 15 percent, on average, to switch jobs”, said Chapman.
