This FMCG business serves millions of consumers across the globe, with a diverse portfolio including some of the world’s biggest brands. As the company builds a new HR organisation, we are helping to find a learning expert who can help drive change and further business success through the development of the L&D function. The business is very well established with a high energy, ‘can do’, open and direct culture that has been key to its success thus far, and will continue to ensure future growth across existing and new markets.
The position reports to the Head of Capability and is responsible for the corporate CoE. In addition, the role will be expected to stay very close to the countries and regions where there will be a huge amount of change management required, bringing in the new structure, whilst helping countries let go of leading individual initiatives and projects. There will be a direct team of around six with a total team size of around 14, along with a need for extensive influencing and indirect leadership across the business. The role will require excellent facilitation and people skills, and the ability to work within a multicultural and rapidly changing environment. Arguably this is one of the most important roles in helping the organisation make this critical transition by ensuring the capability and support of managers. Ideally this role would be located in Athens or Budapest, further across the Adriatic coast or in Eastern Europe, and there is further flexibility for the right person to be anywhere in Europe on the proviso that there will be extensive travel.
The individual we are seeking will have a strong track record of success in Learning on an international basis, preferably having lived and worked across more than one country, but certainly having held multi-country remits. Strong change or transformation acumen will be important. We are looking for a bright but pragmatic individual who can apply common sense, as opposed to heavy theory. In line with the markets covered, strong international experience in a mature matrix growth environment would be desirable. Most importantly this role needs someone who is comfortable ‘saying it as it is’ with a ‘want to win and succeed’ culture and work ethic.
