Our client is global healthcare company with a very long history in Japan of established business. They are one of the largest manufacturers of medical diagnostic equipment. They constantly rank in on Fortune magazine’s best employer to work for, with their innovative approach to employee health & wellness.
This role will report into the Head of HR for Japan, and will eventually become their successor as they are approaching retirement soon. The role has 10 reports with two managers, and looks after an employee count of approximately 700 staff across 10 locations in Japan. While responsible for all HR related activities on the ground, you will also have constant interaction with APAC and global HQ to align best business practices. The position sits in Tokyo with occasional travel to branch offices throughout Japan, and roughly one trip per year to HQ.
You are a strong HR leader looking to step into a role with lots of management responsibility of a mature & experienced HR team, and a business with long experience in Japan. You will need to have a wholistic approach to HR operations and a strategic mindset to grow the business in Japan going forward. Emotional intelligence is a must for this individual as you will be responsible for a domestic sales force, and to translate job strategy to them in a coherent way.
