We are working with a global player in the industrial engineering space. Because of recent large scale structural changes and a sharpening of business focus around key product and service offerings, several key learning and development roles have been created. To build on existing talent development initiatives, the Global Head of Talent is looking to bring on board a new Talent & Learning Manager to focus on early career development plans. With annual revenues, more than $7bn and operations in more than 40 countries, the opportunity presents its share of complexities. The role could be based in any number of locations across the US spanning the West Coast, Mid-West or New Jersey area.
This is a unique opportunity for a Manager to report directly into the Global Head of Talent. The primary focus of this role is to lead performance management and talent development programs for the organization globally. As an individual contributor and working alongside a Director of Talent Development, you will design and deploy learning programs across Corporate, Commercial, R&D and Operations teams, manage learning management systems and support engagement activities of regional HR generalists through which you will deliver talent initiatives. There will not be a heavy emphasis on instructional design work for training programs. The core focus will be to use practical approaches to succession planning, HIPO identification, assessments, and reviews. Emphasis will be on how best to utilize elearning platforms vs classroom learning and striving for customized approaches to fit the organization.
The chosen candidate will demonstrate a broad exposure to talent and learning initiatives. He/She should be familiar with working in an organization which focuses on rigor and metrics around performance and talent management. It is not necessary to bring extensive training program design experience to the table. What is more important is to have a holistic and pragmatic view of how the pieces of talent development fit together across the employee lifecycle. As this organization is heavily decentralized, previous experience influencing without authority is desirable. Experience gained within a global company is essential. We shall consider candidates with domestic or regional only experience. The role would suit an ambitious professional who can thrive in a highly visible role working with senior stakeholders.
Unless the advertisement specifies otherwise, only HR Professionals who are legally able to work in this country can be considered.
