With the overall rise in the world’s middle classes, we have seen a great deal of investment go into the Hospitality & Leisure sector in recent years. Alongside this trend, we are seeing more high-level HR roles appearing in hotels, airlines, restaurant chains, casino groups and other leisure-based companies across the globe.
The hospitality sector has interesting HR roles in that this industry is seeing large expansion in most emerging markets. HR leaders will need to think about attracting, retaining and rewarding often relatively unskilled workforces in competitive marker conditions. On the other hand, some in HR may not enjoy the transactional elements of dealing with large workforces.
