Current HR Trends in LATAM: A Regional Perspective

In this Conversation with HR Leaders, we speak to Juan Carlos Tovar, HR Operations/Services Director Latin America at Syngenta. During which they explore the evolution of the human resources function across the LATAM region and we also hear his personal views on the people challenges which lay ahead.

Juan Carlos Tovar currently lives in Brazil and leads HR operations for Latin America at Syngenta. He has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources with regional  teams at Coca-Cola and Nokia – and leading regional functions for Nestle, Danone and most recently Syngenta. Having relocated multiple times for his career – working in Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and Brazil, he has a keen understanding for the cultural nuances that exist across the region.

Juan Carlos possesses a diverse HR background having gained experience in HR Shared Services and Operations, HR Transformation program management, Learning and Development and HR system implementations. In addition to his regional LATAM experience, he also worked in Europe for three years in Switzerland with Nestle.
