Two ChapmanCG Employees Win Gold at International Sailing Regatta

Jovin Tan and Qian Yin Yap brought home gold medals last week from the Oceanbridge Sail Auckland 2014 sailing regatta. The event took place from 1-4 February and is the biggest Olympic and Paralympic class regatta in New Zealand.

Tan and Yap enjoyed resounding success in the Hansa 303 Double-Handed event, where they challenged two teams of fellow Singaporeans. Over the four days, the pair competed in nine races, and they came out on top at the end of every day, in spite of some tricky sailing conditions.

One of Singapore’s top sailors, Jovin was born with cerebral palsy and came to sailing over ten years ago as an escape. After the race, he stated, “We are thrilled to have won this race, and we are now pinning our hopes on getting selected to represent Singapore in the upcoming Para Asian Games in October.”

Matt Chapman, CEO of ChapmanCG commented, “We are particularly proud of Jovin and Qian Yin’s performance at Oceanbridge in New Zealand. They have their hearts set on representing Singapore at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio De Janeiro, and we are behind them. Both are also high achievers in our team and manage to successfully balance their work around their sporting pursuits”. The Chapman Consulting Group promotes a flexible work approach to enable employees the freedom to take part in whatever outside activities they choose.
