The need has arisen for this innovative technology based organization to upgrade the capability, leadership, and structure of its HR function in the United States. This function also carries global oversight and key support to the internationally based CHRO and overseas corporate HQ. This organization has a history of being performance and results driven and achieves its goals through collaboration and support of all levels of management. It is a global company in every sense of the word, but with a true family ‘one for all, all for one’ philosophy. It has a proud history of seeking new opportunities for growth and innovation and is adaptive to its commercial surroundings. This position can be based at one of three locations in the Western US.
Reporting directly to CHRO, the Vice President Human Resources will provide strategic, operational, and tactical support to a global population of approximately 1500 people. This individual will also be a ‘thought partner’ for the senior HR and business leadership team. The role will carry global responsibility for multiple business lines across the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. Supporting a high energy and results driven commercial team, the individual will build credibility and establish an effective and trusted relationship with business leaders that will better enable the business to succeed in its commercial aims. As the team structure is relatively flat, this means a high degree of influencing without control. The individual will also work closely with the CHRO to drive the strategic HR plan, implementing global policy, and driving the talent agenda, utilizing expertise from across the CoE construct where necessary.
The individual will demonstrate a broad set of tactical and strategic HR skills gained within a demanding commercial organization and should be proven in a fast-paced and challenging setting. While there is no prerequisite regarding industry experience, technology would be of interest. As our client is an acquisitive organization with aggressive growth plans, the right individual should also possess a degree of M&A experience, having performed due diligence and/or integration activities. The individual should also have experience driving cultural change and/or transformations. Previous experience working in a matrix environment will be an advantage as will experience reporting into an overseas corporate HQ. Above all, the CHRO is seeking a pragmatic and practical HR leader who is hands-on, collaborative, relationship oriented and capable of influencing without ownership. Individuals with more of a domestic orientation, or those with a ‘command and control’ style would not be a fit.
Unless the advertisement specifies otherwise, only HR Professionals who are legally able to work in this country can be considered.
