We are working with a company that is going through a huge change in its business. It has been historically successful in its niche Industrial space, but technological advances has meant that the company needs to rethink its entire business model. Japan has been slow on the uptake on some of these huge business shifts, so the company is looking for a new HR Leader to steer it through this exciting new course.
The role is based in the company’s Tokyo Headquarters, and will cover the company’s entire Japan population of around 250 employees. There are a lot of worries in this traditional employee population about the upcoming changes, so the HR leader will need to steer these through while maintaining engagement. While going through these business changes, the HR leader will also need to be in charge of a culture change to improve other management practices and competencies.
You will need to partner with a very dynamic new CEO of Japan, who is in charge of pushing through these changes. So your ability to work as a strong business partner will be integral to the role. So long as you have the trust of this leader, you will be given a platform to create a new business vision. The successful candidate will need to be a visionary and an intellectual heavyweight, above and beyond an HR operational expert.
